PRECINCT CAPTAINS

Precinct Captains  (Central Committee Members)

At the Freedom BLOC, we believe in putting people in power. Our current political landscape demonstrates that corporations and political influencers make the most vital decisions that affect our democracy, and not the everyday people who those decisions impact. We believe everyday people, people who are most directly impacted by the problems we face, should be the drivers of our democracy, that starts with challenging the current foundations of electoral politics – political parties.

Precinct captains form the core of a political party. Precinct Captains are not just representatives; they are catalysts for progressive change in Ohio. Their commitment bridges the gap between the established political structure and our community, actively working to dismantle the systemic injustices deeply ingrained in our society. Their presence aligns with our overarching mission to promote equitable policies and to advocate for the dignity and rights of Black and poor Ohioans. Our County Precinct Captain mission centers on building political power within the Black community.

We stand united in the belief that leaders who have been directly impacted are the key to reshaping our political landscape for the better. The lived experiences and values directly impacted leaders bring to the table grant them a deep understanding of the challenges our communities face.

It is through grassroots leadership that we can collectively work to build a society that prioritizes housing as a human right, safety, well-being, and the affirmation of every individual's human dignity. Together, we can make this vision a reality.
